My Students

Our school is transitioning to a K - 8 school this year! We are so excited to be welcoming younger grades and families to our campus and classrooms.

This new group of learners will be the very first second grade class in the history of our school!

Our community is growing and changing as new homes and neighborhoods are being developed. We will be transforming many of our classrooms that are currently being used for older students to rooms that will have to meet the needs of younger learners. Our challenge is create a space filled with purposeful materials that promote growth and learning for all age levels! We are so excited to extend our school to contain over 9 grade levels and hope to make for a memorable start!

My Project

As we transition to include grades that have emerging readers, our classroom needs have changed and grown . One of the most essential areas we have to expand on is our reading area for primary learners. The easel will be the center of our mini lessons and morning meetings where we will introduce and review reading strategies and skills together. It will be perfect for creating and posting anchor charts. The easel's adjustable size and height will allow students the ability to interact, participate, and present easily!

The listening center materials will be essential to help build fluency, model reading skills, and allow for readers to independently read books of various levels.
