Help me give my students the opportunity to read amazing books that will keep them interested like Amulet, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries, School of Good and Evil and so many other great reads!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
There are many little ways to enlarge your child's world. Love of books is the best of all.- Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
My students depend on the classroom library for their independent reading books.
Our school funding has been drastically reduced causing little to no money for classroom libraries. Adding new books to the classroom is just not a priority. It is imperative to use books as a motivational tool for my students. They need that challenge. By having this classroom library, my students will look forward to their reading time. Instead of the same old books that are already read and boring, they will be inspired to read new and exciting books.
My Project
So many of my students have not yet discovered books that capture their hearts and their imagination. This could be the year the magic of reading happens and they fall in love with books.
We want children to look forward to reading.
We want them to pick up a book and be transported to a magical place where only they can see themselves. By having a wide variety of interesting books, my students can have the opportunity to achieve at a higher level throughout the content areas. Now during independent reading time they will want to grab that book and read.
