My Students
Our school has a long history embedded into the community we serve. Students are excited to attend school where many of their parents and even grandparents went before them. I have an exciting opportunity to start a STEAM Resource program for the first time! When you walk into my classroom you won't see students sitting in desks diligently taking notes, instead you'll see students brainstorming ideas, drawing images, building models, testing their solution, and more!
My students are spunky, inquisitive, and hardworking.
"I never knew school could be this fun!" a student shouted to a group member as they were working on a STEAM project. It is moments like these that push me to ensure that my students always have opportunities for hands-on, real-life learning experiences. It is wonderful donors, like yourself, that can help me to provide these experiences to our youngest learners!
My Project
Children have the greatest imagination and love to build. However, they're imaginations can be limited by the resources available to them. I want to be able to allow my students' imaginations to gain new heights by providing them with Keva planks and connectors. I'm currently gathering materials to prepare for our STEAM competition in the spring of 2018. We will be having practices before school to learn how to work together as a team, share our ideas, and put those ideas into action.
Keva planks will give my students the opportunity to let their imaginations run wild.
They will be able to build the Eiffel Tower, Golden Gate Bridge, and more! As they work together as a team, they will be implementing the engineering design process. The dry erase markers and protector sleeves will allow them space to plan their design, while the Keva planks allow them to put their plan into action. I cannot wait to see where their imaginations lead them! The possibilities will be endless with your help!
