My students are amazing, unique and brilliant. They each have their own learning style that I am trying to accommodate in my special education setting.
I want my students to thrive when they are with me.
I want to help them become advocates for their own learning and I am there to support their success. My students are all on an individual education plan and specifically for reading/writing. My job is to help them meet those goals in our small group setting. Some are highly impacted and receive many services within the public school setting. My students are in grades 3-4-5 at a public elementary school.
My Project
My students have many needs and many accommodations. These supplies will help them thrive in my small group setting. I want to help them feel comfortable in my classroom by providing flexible seating. I have a reward system that requires a healthy supply of prizes. I'd also like to build my library for guided reading groups. My students will benefit from all these supplies as I am building up a new classroom specifically for literacy special education. My school is incredibly supportive and I've already spent so much of my own money. There are just some more items I know would add to the environment and learning.
I see my students in a small group setting every day.
The book sets will help me differentiate their learning using different levels and give them a variety of texts. The trampoline is for brain breaks and then help get a little energy out...get through heart racing and get ready to learn. Thr prizes are for my reward system used for motivation and incentives. Thr balls would provide different seating options to accommodate specific needs. Finally....the timers are important for running records and chunking up tasks for kiddos!
