Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students on our robotics team all come from Waterbury Connecticut, a low-income/high poverty school district. They are from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Both male and female students will be exposed to STEM principles that will help them get an advanced education despite their extracurricular challenges.
Students that have come through this team have gone on to successful college careers in multiple STEM fields.
The team competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition every year. Students will design, build, and compete with a sophisticated robot.
My Project
Team 3525 competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition for high school students. They will learn how to use the requested tools safely and effectively to build a championship winning robot.
The students will use the cordless driver/drill set every day they are in the shop.
Currently, we are using hand-me-down tools that are harder to work and learn on.
With your donation, the team can afford to buy new and safer tools to effectively teach the students of the team for years to come. This will also free up funds to buy more raw materials that the team needs.
