Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach a wonderful group of 6 and 7 year olds who keep me on the go! They are a group of students who love to learn and explore new possibilities in-spite of their home circumstances. The students that I teach, look to school as an outlet from trauma and frustrations. I strive to make sure that their escape is meaningful. My students love technological and STEM driven activities to learn through. They really push me to expand and find new innovative ways to drive an exciting learning experience!

My Project

As our school is a STEM school, headphones are materials needed to keep down noise and distractions while using our iPads and computers. Students need a resource that will also help them to focus on the task at hand. There is a new system called Nearpod, that allows all students to learn and engage in lessons that they can hear my voice through the system to complete. Having headphones will help to achieve this new way of learning. These headphones will also become a key resource of the classroom during reading centers and groups for electronic read alongs and independent comprehension readings online.
