My Project

I am excited to become yoga and mindfulness certified in order to have even more resources, options, and activities for helping our students and school community to be more successful. This training will help with community togetherness, social emotional learning, and movement. One of the best things will be to see the students grow in their own ability to cope and facilitate their mindful activities across life skills and activities as we progress through the lessons.

Our students struggle with being able to slow down and process stress.

I believe this will give another outlet for them to cope and learn coping skills. Even on good days I enjoy stretching and slowing down to work my mind and body together in yoga routines. I want to share this positive energy and movement with the students. I think it will also help with their focus and tracking for success in and outside the classroom.

This will allow for a stronger community. The training and my involvement will allow the students to see vulnerability in their instructors as well as themselves, showing them it is okay to falter, and step outside our comfort zone. But it is not okay to give up. It will show them we are right beside them lifting them back up mindfully and physically.
