My students need 12 children's books such as "A Very Hungry Caterpillar" and "The Napping House" to read and use along with our flannel board story kits.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Storytellers! Help my 4 and 5 year-olds become storytellers. I teach kindergarten in a high need school.
Our school just opened.
It was built to relieve 3 overcrowded schools. We have very little resources available and absolutely no classroom libraries. Reading books is essential for students to learn how to read and develop their skills as storytellers. Most of the students in my classroom come from low-income homes and have little experience with storytelling and reading books in their homes.
My Project
My students' language is developing. They need reading materials that will enhance their language skills. These engaging books will inspire my students to read them over and over again until they can retell the stories on their own.
Your help will ensure my students have the opportunity to enhance their reading and storytelling skills.
Storytelling is an important skill that will help them in school in years to come and all the way to adulthood. When they grow up, they will become storytellers to other children.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
