Help me give my students books to expand their independent reading libraries so they read for fun!

My Project
Children who read at grade level are more likely to graduate high school, have more career prospects, and earn higher incomes in the future. When students engage in independent reading time, it boosts their confidence and also cultivates a positive attitude toward learning. Additionally, the freedom to select their independent reading books and immerse themselves in reading for extended periods empowers students with a sense of ownership over their learning. By nurturing a culture of independent reading both inside and outside the classroom, educators can pave the way for students to thrive academically.
To promote reading, I frequently share my own personal reading experiences with students, and have an ongoing rating chart with recommendations on my classroom wall- these books are all from that list.
When students feel more connected to a book, they are more likely to begin and finish it. Knowing there are other people in the classroom to chat with them about it is just icing on the cake. I plan to create small groups to focus on reading and literacy skills with these students after school to continue to build relationships with each other, and reading. I cannot wait for students to be able to take one of these books home with them.
