Each year, I am blessed with an amazing group of children, whom I learn from daily. They come in each morning with so much to share with the class and me. They are full of life and want to share that with everyone around them. At the beginning of the school year, my students enter second grade as shy first graders. However, when they leave for the third grade they are strong, confident, and determined. Being part of this process is what makes teaching so beautiful.
My Project
The magnet tiles and the crystal blocks are to add to my center time choices. I feel that students build and grow when playing and working together. I've see how much stronger our classroom community has grown since starting centers. It gives students who are timid a time where they can play and be themselves. It also allows for the creative side of the students to come out. Many times, the day is so focused on getting work done that creativity is put last. I'm hoping with these materials we can continue to grow and build a stronger community bond.
