My Students
I teach at an amazing Title I school where 85% of our students come from a low socioeconomic status. Most of the families I serve have working parents with little or no education. Comprised of mostly minorities, our school has a spirit of unity that shines through. We are a large family nearing 900 students. The passion for learning is felt when you walk through the doors. I work with children with special needs in grades K through 5th. My students are loving and kind and have real determination. I strive to teach them the skills they need to be active participants in our community.
My Project
My students need fine help building fine motor skills. Research shows that there is a link between in-hand manipulation, eye-hand coordination, and grasping strength with the child's motor skills, self-care and social function.
These materials will be a great assets to our classroom collection, not only will students develop fine motor skills, but literacy and mathematical skills as well.
Developing strong writing skills is so important and the Building Fine Motor Skills Games strengthens necessary muscles through play.
