My Students

In Davison, we are focused on putting the kids needs first. This has been our recent mission statement that I love! Our building consists of fifth and sixth graders that bring their own personalities with them. I love seeing how a classroom can change from year to year or even classroom to classroom. Many of our students are coming from a home where they are in need of free and reduced lunches. Our students are special in every way and amongst the 850 students each of them make up what we call Hahn Intermediate.

My Project

My goal for this project is to encourage students to collaborate together while learning. As mathematicians, we like to not only know how to solve the problem but be able to teach it to one another. By having tables in the classroom and other options for seating, this allows students to work together more easily than at standard desk. I love when students are truly engaged and are actively teaching one another. This is learning at it's best moments.
