This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A great way for children to improve their speech and language as well as social skills, is through play and toys. They can learn to develop new skills both socially, physically and communicatively. Many toys teach children the concepts of cause and effect, problem solving, following directions, taking turns, and more.
My student can greatly benefit from these toys and games.
The students I work with are diagnosed with Autism and have varying levels of communication skills and abilities. My students often have difficulty sharing and taking turns with others, as well as following directions. If they are motivated by an exciting toy or game, often times they are more focused and able to learn.
These toys will help my students of different ages from Kindergarten to 4th grade. These toys will teach them how to play with others, learn to problem solve, and will help them not just in the classroom or therapy room, but at home as well.
