My Project

Help me give my second grade students the opportunity to build their independence!

Every morning our class spends time working in a small reading group and working independently.

Some students meet with the teacher, while others work independently on specific skills. Receiving a new shelf and storage tubs will allow me to organize student activities. I will place one activity inside each tub. Students will choose an activity from the shelf, complete it independently, and then return it to the shelf. If time allows, they will choose another activity. I will be fostering student responsibility by setting clear expectations and giving them choices during this time.
