My students are absolutely amazing and are eager learners. They are in 1st grade and come to school each day ready to learn something new. They are learning to be risk takers and to be proud of the learning they are accomplishing.
My class consists of wide-eyed, curious 6 and 7 year old little learners who want to do their best in school.
Their love for learning new things brings so much excitement into our classroom. We come from a Title 1 school where each student is provided breakfast and lunch free of charge. Despite their hardships, these students are ready to go each and every day to do their best learning!
My Project
First grade is intense. This is the year with the biggest reading level jump, they are now expected to build upon everything they learned in kindergarten and take it one step further, and the work is getting more and more challenging every day. Needless to say, we have a lot of very important work to do to get ready for 2nd grade!
With all of the learning taking place, we have no time to waste!
My students need to be able to access their materials at a moments notice and get back to work. Currently, my students are sitting at round tables and do not have a place to store their supplies. They have to go more than once place to get everything they need or wait for me to pass out their work/materials. It wastes so much time! Time that we do not have. Time that could be used to write one more sentence or read one more book.
With your help, they will be able to store their writing journals, white boards, and guided reading books all in one, easy to access, place. The back of their chair! This would save us so much valuable learning time!
