This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach students with special needs within an elementary school setting. Each student has their own specific challenges. I am committed to help each student achieve to their highest potential. It is very rewarding to see the accomplishments and growth they acquire each year.
Our focus in the classroom is to help students become functional individuals within our society.
My students have value and can enhance our communities with their presence. They bring JOY to all those who have contact with them.
My Project
I will use the materials requested by establishing centers within the classroom that will allow my students to keep engaged independently. The materials requested are at their instructional level and contain items that they can manipulate on their own (for example, matching / sorting / duplicating patterns / applying math and reading skills). Through the use of these materials students can hopefully generalize learned skills.
By donating to this project, you will provide opportunities for students to practice skills independent of their teacher.
Independence is a big accomplishment for my students, and having these materials available will definitely help develop this skill.
