My Students

Our students are all so unique, ambitious, and full of creative energy! In our classroom, we currently have 8 children ranging from 7-10 years old. Our students are motivated to learn and love completing hands-on activities!

These students have varying abilities and it is extremely important that we create an environment that supports their needs as well as fosters their different learning styles.

The school district recently purchased some new furniture for our classroom including new instructional tables, new students desks, a puppet center and a kitchen set. However, there are a few more things that are needed to organize our classroom and to make the most use out of the materials we were given.

Our school is located in the inner city part of Philadelphia in an impoverished neighborhood where a lot of children don’t have basic necessities and therefore lack the skills to be successful in today’s world.

As teachers, we strive to fill this gap and give children experiences that they may not have had otherwise.

My Project

These materials will assist my students in

practicing various skills including appropriate social skills within the classroom setting.

The food/kitchen items will allow my students to participate in imaginative play using their new kitchen while learning about different foods and ways items are prepared all while playing with their peers.

The puppets will allow my students to use their new puppet stage that was ordered to re-tell stories, demonstrate comprehension and explore their own imagination in order to share their own stories with peers.

Overall, these items will provide my students with increased opportunities to engage, interact and converse with peers in a fun way.
