My Students

P.E. means a lot to us! It means that we are Pretty Excited to get moving. We are ready for a Positive Experience to learn and grow. We want Playful Exercise with our classmates. But we are missing one thing...Playground Equipment!

I teach second grade to a fantastic group of students.

They are fun-loving, hard-working and full of personality! Unfortunately, the school is located in a neighborhood that isn't the safest once the sun goes down. Most students live in an apartment where outdoor space is limited and safety is a concern. Many parents keep their children indoors because their neighborhood isn't safe. As a result, students spend more time in front of the TV or playing video games instead of being active.

My Project

School is that safe place for them to get outdoors and to be a kid! By supporting our project with jump ropes, hula hoops and a variety of playground balls my students will have the basic equipment needed to develop and improve fine and gross motor skill development, coordination, balance and control, hand-eye coordination, strength, and flexibility. These are all necessary for children to reach developmental milestones. Not only will these students become active through physical fitness but they will build the foundation for life-long learning through teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship.
