Building Great Readers in First Grade With Binders
Help me give my students binders to keep track of their Wit and Wisdom work throughout the year, making it easy to review and reflect on their learning.
My students are eager, curious, and excited to learn! They come from diverse backgrounds, and many are multilingual learners. Every day, they work hard to build their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. With the right tools, they can engage deeply in our curriculum and develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
Our first-grade class is diving into the Wit and Wisdom curriculum, which encourages students to think critically, engage with rich literature, and build their reading and writing skills.
To stay organized and make the most of their learning, each student needs a 2-inch binder to store their reading materials, vocabulary work, and writing assignments.
These binders will help students keep track of their work throughout the year, making it easy to review and reflect on their learning. Having an organized space for their materials will support their independence and confidence in literacy.
With your support, we can provide each of our 80 first graders with a binder to use during Wit and Wisdom. These binders will serve as a personal learning portfolio, allowing students to see their growth and progress over time. Your generosity will directly impact their ability to stay organized, take ownership of their learning, and build foundational reading and writing skills.
