Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students with apply trigonometric ratios, (sine, cosine, tangent)and angle relationships to design and construct furniture. In this activity, students will calculate the missing angles needed to construct pieces.

As an extension, students will design and create their own piece of furniture in 3D in wood, plastic, and/or carton using scissors, glue sticks, and calculators.

The board games will be provided for students who finish the project early.

Students will be provided drawings of furniture in which some measurements of angles are provided. They will use trigonometric ratios and angle relationship rules to find the missing angle measurements. They will also use other Geometry concepts like the Pythagorean Theorem to find the missing length.
