Help me give my students the snacks and fidgets to focus on building molecule.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Romanak's classroom raised $722
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I will use the materials to help my students see the molecular structure of their food in the biology class. Students will build up carbohydrates just like plants do during photosynthesis and then analyze how those molecules are converted to lipid to store energy. I use BioFuels like algae as the phenomena in the Cell Energy unit. I used have students use Legos to build molecules but they were stolen from my classroom. I decided it was a sign that students should have more accurate materials to build molecules even though Legos are fun. We will connect the nutrition labels of the snacks to the molecular models.
The fidgets will be so students can focus during the drier parts of the lessons like the steps of photosynthesis.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
