This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Practice, practice, practice! My students desperately need to practice their reading in order to improve their fluency. Having individual student CD players would allow them to do just that!

My third grade students are capable learners struggling to build their fluency skills.

They come from a low economic neighborhood where single parent homes are prevalent. However, my students and their parents recognize and value the importance of a good education. They strive daily to be the best third grade students they can be.

My Project

Allowing my students to have access to individual student CD players will help them improve their fluency. They would be able to use these CD players during their center time to listen to their favorite recorded stories. These students desperately need to listen to fluent reading which models accuracy, pace, and expression. What a better way to do so than with individual CD players that they can take anywhere in the classroom!

My students yearn to be great readers and having models of fluent readers that are exciting to listen to are the perfect incentive for them to practice their reading. Please help them achieve their goals!
