Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My school is a Title I community school in the Bronx. Several of our students are in the shelter system. We service students from low-income families that face many hardships such as eviction, domestic violence, and parents that are incarcerated.
My students are beginning to build foundational skills needed to progress.
They are enthusiastic about learning and come in with a passion to build their knowledge every day. My students benefit from small group instruction, centers, and kinesthetic activities.
Students will be using the iPad Pro and accessories to build their engagement and to help reinforce lessons learned. I am asking for an iPad Pro, case and Apple Pencil to be used in all areas of the classroom.
The iPad Pro will also be used as a center where students can listen to stories, practice phonics, and basic motor skills.
Many of my students are visual learners who struggle with listening and speaking. Adding technology would give my students an opportunity to build confidence and practice the skills needed to make them successful in the classroom. The iPad Pro will be used as a resource for writing to support students who have difficulty writing basic letters and words.
