My Project
The SPOT the Emotions project is an emotional literacy initiative aimed at equipping young learners with the tools to identify, understand, and manage their emotions in a supportive and developmentally appropriate environment. Designed for students in early elementary grades, this program integrates evidence-based social-emotional learning (SEL) practices with engaging visual aids, structured classroom discussions, and hands-on activities.
Our students are bright, enthusiastic, and deeply eager to learn, not only academically, but socially and emotionally.
Many of them face daily challenges that impact their ability to focus, connect with peers, or express themselves in healthy ways. We believe that by fostering emotional intelligence from a young age, we can improve student well-being, reduce behavioral disruptions, and create more compassionate and connected classroom communities.
Through the use of the “Emotion SPOT” series, an accessible and child-friendly resource, the project introduces concepts such as self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, and responsible decision-making. Each resource included in this project serves a critical function through storybooks and visual tools.
The ultimate goal of SPOT the Emotions is to empower children with a strong emotional foundation that supports lifelong learning, resilience, and healthy interpersonal relationships.
