Building Early Literacy with Interactive Smart Board Clickers!
Help me give my students a Smart Board clicker for the teacher to make our early literacy lessons using Google Slides more interactive, engaging, and tailored to their needs.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In the early literacy classrooms, at my school site, engaging young learners through interactive technology is key to capturing their attention and fostering a love of reading. I am requesting Smart Board clickers that teachers can use during presentations to guide and enhance our Google Slides lessons on literacy. With this tool, they will be able to deliver more dynamic, interactive presentations while seamlessly integrating the slides with classroom activities that encourage student participation.
Google Slides allows then to design structured, visually appealing lessons that break down literacy concepts into manageable parts.
With the addition of the Smart Board clickers, they will be able to effortlessly navigate through slides, ask questions, and keep students on track without having to be at the board constantly. By controlling the presentation from anywhere in the classroom, they can focus on monitoring my students, engaging with them directly, and making sure everyone is following along. This level of interaction is especially crucial for the young learners who are just beginning their literacy journey, as it helps them remain engaged and attentive throughout the lesson.
Using the clicker will also allow me to make the lessons more responsive to the students' needs. They can move through activities at a pace that suits the class and instantly shift between slides to review concepts when needed. For early literacy lessons—such as phonics drills and word-building activities—the clicker gives me the freedom to interact directly with the students, ensuring they have a more connected and interactive learning experience. This project will help them create an engaging and adaptive classroom environment where every student has the best possible chance to build a solid foundation in literacy.
