Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I currently am a special education teacher teaching a kindergarten special class 12:1:1. My students have a variety of disabilities showing unique skills in different areas. According to my students diverse needs and learning plans, they require breaks and a more kinesthetic approach to learning. By incorporating STEAM into my classroom I’m allowing them to show their strengths in different ways. I would love to have LEGOS available for different lessons and activities that deal with building and engineering.

Most of my students require ways in which they can building upon their social skills, interact with one another and strengthen their fine motor skills.

Having activities and timed breaks where my students can use LEGOS will enhance their learning process and provide an area of interest for them to keep them engaged. I love finding different fun ways to teach through STEAM.
