My students this year are a lively and energetic group of kids. They come to school every day, ready to learn and give their best work. We have 17 boys in our class and 9 girls! With all of the energy in the room, they often can get restless and need outlets to be able to move and release some of that energy.
With 26 students in our class, we have really worked this year on building a strong classroom community where everyone is encouraged to share their ideas and support others.
Since we are a charter school, many of the kids come for different parts of our city, which creates a diverse and exciting school culture.
My Project
Having these unique building materials will drastically change our morning and classroom learning environment. At the moment, my students are working in a morning work workbook, and I know that they would benefit from having hands-on activities to work with each morning.
Using items such as the Lincoln Logs, Qubits, ZOOBs, Spirograph, Brain Flakes, and magnetic tiles will encourage my students to use their creativity and imaginations to build and work cooperatively with their peers.
My goal with these new additions to our classroom is to create a learning environment where my students are engaged in learning from the minute that they walk into the classroom!
