My Project

Keeping up with and supporting students’ reading interests is a challenging but incredibly rewarding job. Connecting students with literature is one of the most important roles of a school library, and in a world where students have so many activities competing for their attention, seeing them choose a book and become excited about reading is a huge win!

There is nothing better than having a student come into the library asking for a specific book.

Our students love sharing what they have read, asking for similar titles, and recommending books they would love to read and talk about with their friends. Those conversations help us build a library that reflects their interests and keeps them coming back for their next adventure.

For many of our students, our school library provides access to books and reading opportunities they may not otherwise have. We want every student who walks through our doors to feel that their interests matter and that there is a book waiting to capture their imagination. The books included in this project are among the most requested titles from our K–12 students. By adding them to our collection, we hope to continue nurturing a love of reading, encouraging student choice, and providing adventures that will stay with our students throughout their school years and beyond.
