Building Connections With Collaborative Seating

My Project

My students are bright, curious, and eager to learn, but they need a supportive and structured environment to thrive. As a special education teacher working with students with autism in a sub-separate setting, I strive to create a classroom that fosters engagement, communication, and collaboration. One of the biggest challenges we face is a lack of appropriate seating that allows my students to work together comfortably, while still providing the structure they need. An additional collaborative work center would create more opportunities to build social skills, and engage in hands-on learning activities that support their unique needs.

Having a designated group table would allow my students to participate in small-group instruction, cooperative learning, and sensory-friendly activities that are crucial to their development.

This will allow myself and paraprofessionals to work with multiple small groups of students at once. Your generous donation will help create a welcoming and functional space where my students can grow academically and socially. Thank you for supporting their journey!
