Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school library has evolved into more than just a place to check out books; it’s becoming a community space where students can learn, connect, and have fun together. Last year, thanks to a DonorsChoose project, we added a small collection of board games to the library. This simple addition made a significant difference: more students began visiting the library, not just to read, but to enjoy spending time together in a safe and welcoming environment.

The board games helped bring students together, build friendships, and create a sense of belonging in our library.

Now, I would love to expand the options we have for them. By adding more board games, we can give students even more opportunities to engage with one another, learn teamwork, and strengthen our library as a hub of community and joy.

With your support, we can continue making the library a place where students not only discover great books, but also discover the joy of connection and play.
