Building Connections: A STEM and SEL Interactive Learning Experience

Help me give my students mix of educational tools and fun supplies, including dry erase markers, hydroponic sponges, doodle pads, a LEGO space set, an iPad with accessories, and pencils.

My Project

This project is about giving my students hands-on, interactive tools that spark their creativity, critical thinking, and social-emotional development. Here’s how each item is going to make a difference: The Volcanics Black Dry Erase Markers are for quick, everyday collaboration on our whiteboards, helping students get comfortable with sharing ideas and problem-solving together in real-time. It encourages teamwork and communication, essential skills we’re building up in every class. With Eshylala’s Hydroponic Sponges, students will dive into hands-on science by growing their own plants in our classroom hydroponic setup, giving them responsibility and teaching patience as they witness how small actions lead to big growth. The Zhehao LCD Writing Tablets will serve as personal doodle boards, where kids can express themselves, practice their writing, and sketch out ideas during downtime, boosting both their confidence and their willingness to take creative risks without fear of mistakes since these boards are erasable. Now for the fun part—LEGO Technic Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit Building Set. This is more than just a toy. We’re using it to visualize space science while encouraging students to work together on something that’s both challenging and rewarding, tapping into their curiosity about the universe. The iPad and Stylus Pen will be used as a digital learning tool for both research and creativity, allowing us to explore apps that connect STEM and SEL in fun and engaging ways.

My goal with this project is to create a classroom where students feel excited about learning through both STEM activities and SEL lessons.

I want them to see how collaboration, patience, and creativity aren’t just classroom skills but life skills. My students are special because they come from challenging backgrounds but bring incredible energy, resilience, and creativity. T
