My Project
The special education department at our school is hoping to build a class set of library books. Although we have a library here, we do not have many class sets of books.
Reading books as a group facilitates discussion, understanding, sharing perspectives, interest, and most importantly, comprehension.
Students will be completing assignments and projects as we read through the books.
This class set of the book, Long Way Down, will be used by students with disabilities in our small group resource classes. Often times, these students have weaknesses in reading fluency, literacy, and comprehension. Reading is the foundational stepping stone in lifelong learning. We are hoping to improve their ability and confidence.
