My Students

My students are explorers, risk-takers, and the innovators of tomorrow. Located in Northwest Arkansas, the population of my school is vastly diverse in background and opportunity. Yet, I am continually amazed at how they are able to build lasting communities of learning and challenge themselves to achieve more than is expected of them.

They are deeply passionate about learning and creatively solving problems in and out of the classroom.

Although their passions differ from each other, all are worthy to be explored.

My Project

My students have access to Chromebooks in class, but many of their project ideas are hindered by their lack of processing power. I have students wanting to pursue projects involving sound engineering, graphic designing, adobe products, stock portfolio management, software engineering, video editing, podcasting, and video game coding. All of these things are severely limited by their Chromebooks. Since desktop computers are so expensive, I sought to find a cheaper alternative.

Buying and assembling individual parts of a computer saves thousands of dollars and provides my students with a unique learning opportunity by stepping into the shoes of a computer hardware engineer.

Funding this project will provide my students with the materials to build four fully functioning desktop computers that can be used for all of their future project ideas. The learning opportunities provided by this project are virtually limitless and will create new experiences in numerous new career fields for my students.
