My Project
Our students are brilliant, resilient, and courageous individuals. They are proud and hardworking art students!
We use art as a form of communication and as a way to build community in the classroom.
Art informs an understanding of ourselves and the world we live in.
My school is inclusive, diverse, welcoming, and prepares students for life after High School.
We are requesting t-shirts and tie-dye supplies. We will be collaborating with our art classes to create shirts together and help foster a positive learning environment.
This will empower students to connect with each other, share their stories, and engage in a healthy art making experience. The students deserve to have a fun and joyous end of the year project. This project will allow each student to use their natural creativity to create unique works, and communicate something about themselves. We will be having conversations about what communal dreaming looks like while we create shirts and how we can bring these ideas into our school building. We will also talk about physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development and growth as humans/about what makes us human. We will reflect on the school year- the milestones, hardships, etc. to close out the year on a community centered note. This project will create community, articulate subjectiveness, and give the students a chance to connect with one another.
