Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love my students for their humor and willingness to learn about other people. They are always asking me and their peers questions to learn more about each other, and I often have to cut them off so we can learn our lesson. However, there are many opportunities for us to build community, and I am asking for help to fund a few classroom community building supplies. Games and snacks will serve to bring us together when we finish our math work early!
I also love my students for their fortitude in a tough environment, and these supplies will support their ability to grow and learn.
There are many times when students are thirsty from running around the campus to get to their classes, with no access to safe water unless they buy bottled water from the student store or bring bottled water from home.
I plan to use emergency water bottles for students who really need them, as well as PPE (hand sanitizer, masks, disinfecting wipes) for everyone to take care of their health when they enter the classroom.
