Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is Professor Meza and here is a message from my students: Hello, we are the Student Voice Committee from Eric Solorio Academy High School. And we want to introduce the idea of Disco Diversity Ball (DISCO DIVE). This will be an event held at our school as a dance. This dance is to promote the idea of diversity in our area, which will also be disco themed. When it comes to schools, dances can promote students to express themselves and build community.
DISCO DIVE includes way more: Fashion shows, trivia, music and music performances.
All of this is student organized so we need help making sure this dance is memorable and fun for the entire school! The balloons and wall decor will be used to give our school gym a festive and thematic feel. Our photo booth will use the disco props and stands for students to create memorable photos with their friends. Finally we have some paper plates to help keep our disco theme going with the food generously provided by our school. This our second year doing this and we want to expand it restore more school culture that we've been building back up since the start of the pandemic.
Student Voice Committee believes allowing more connections between students and letting students show their unique skills to others will make students take pride in their school. Students need a safe space to explore who they are and meet other students outside the regular classroom hours. We hope you can join us in making DISCO DIVE a superb event for years to come.
