My Students
I have an AVID class which consists of motivated and capable young students who want to go to college. They usually come from some sort of disadvantaged background and need extra support to reach their goals. My other classes are arts and crafts classes. As an elective, I have students from various backgrounds.
I have a diverse bunch of students from all ethnic backgrounds, socioconomic situations and intellectual abilities.
In Hawaii, many students are of mixed ethnicities that range from Asian, Polynesian, white, etc. Some have lived in Hawaii all their lives, some have lived here for a good chunk of their lives and some live here temporarily while their parents serve in the military.
My Project
The items requested are necessary so that my students can create personalized and unique items for behavior incentives, prizes, gifts and SWAG. Our school has a rewards program where they can earn snacks for good behavior but it would be great to add other items as options. I would also like my students to create products we can give as teacher gifts, gifts to people in our community as well as possible fundraisers.
I believe that their personalized creations will help excite and uplift the students, faculty and overall school community.
