Building Brighter Futures for At-Risk Students With LEGO Robotics
Help me give my students LEGO Robotics kits to explore STEM in a fun, hands-on way during an after school club. This club gives students a place to build skills, confidence, and a love for learning.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
If our LEGO Robotics project is funded, our STEM Club will launch a hands-on, inquiry-based robotics program designed especially for our at-risk students. Using LEGO Education kits, students will work in small teams to build, code, and test robots that solve real-world challenges. Each week, club members will explore STEM concepts like engineering design, programming logic, and problem-solving through engaging activities and competitions.
This project will foster critical thinking, teamwork, and confidence in students who often don't have access to enrichment programs.
With these LEGO Robotics kits, we’re not just building robots—we’re building future scientists, engineers, and leaders.
Introductory lessons on basic robotics, sensors, motors, and block-based coding, team challenges where students design robots to complete obstacle courses or perform tasks, mini competitions to encourage creativity, collaboration, and perseverance and showcase events where students present their projects to families, teachers, and community members.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
