My Project
At the heart of our mission is the belief that every child deserves access to tools that inspire creativity, build confidence, and communication. That’s why we are seeking donations to bring LEGO sets and activities into our classroom comprised of 6 wonderful students with autism.
LEGO bricks are far more than just toys.
In our classroom, they can be powerful learning tools. For students with autism, hands-on activities like LEGO building offer a unique combination of structure, creativity, and engagement. These colorful bricks help children develop fine motor skills, improve focus and attention, and learn problem-solving in a fun, non-threatening way. We are also requesting Lego sorting trays, which help keep the bricks organized and the environment manageable for the students who may feel overwhelmed by clutter. Lego sets provide a perfect platform for social learning—working in pairs or groups allow students to practice communication, cooperation, and turn-taking.
We also rely on a wealth of creative teaching strategies and lesson plans to engage our students. A TPT gift card would allow us to download differentiated materials designed specifically for students with autism. These materials help us create different designs that the students can complete using the Lego bricks, that are visually engaging, hands-on, and tailored to a variety of learning styles and sensory needs.
As our students engage in meaningful play and exploration, messes inevitably happen. We are in need of cleaning supplies—cleaning wipes, and sprays, to ensure our classroom remains a clean, safe, and healthy space for learning.
Together, we can create a space where our students feel empowered to explore, express themselves, and connect with the world around them. Your generosity will not only put LEGOs into the hands of children who need them, but it will also help lay the foundation for a brighter, more inclusive future.
