Building Bright Futures: Hands-On Tools for Literacy and Math Success
Help me give my students engaging Science of Reading and early math activities to build my students’ foundational literacy and numeracy skills through interactive and hands-on learning.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I absolutely love how engaged and enthusiastic my students are, especially when they are introduced to new learning experiences that are tailored to their unique needs. They each bring their own strengths to the classroom, and I’m constantly inspired by their creativity, curiosity, and resilience in the face of challenges. The resources I am requesting will help meet their diverse learning needs and enhance their skills in key areas like literacy and math.
My goal for this project is to create a dynamic, inclusive learning environment where all students, regardless of their starting point, can make measurable progress in literacy and math.
By using these high-quality, research-backed materials, I aim to give my students the strong foundational skills they need to excel in future learning.
The Lakeshore Science of Reading Phonological Awareness Activities Bundle and Vocabulary Activities Bundle will directly support my students' foundational language development. These hands-on materials will give them the tools they need to understand sounds, build phonemic awareness, and expand their vocabulary, which are essential for reading success. By incorporating multi-sensory learning strategies, these resources will make abstract concepts more tangible and accessible.
The Lakeshore Early Math Folder Game Libraries will provide my students with interactive, engaging math games that reinforce early math concepts like counting, number recognition, and simple addition and subtraction. These games will allow students to practice math skills in a way that feels like play, making learning enjoyable and motivating.
What makes my students special is their resilience, determination, and enthusiasm to learn. With the right resources, they are capable of achieving great things, and these tools will provide the support they need to succeed in building both academic skills and confidence.
