Building Bright Futures: Books and Supplies for Kindergarten Learning
Help me give my students a new seating/bookcase area in the library as well as books and supplies for the classroom for everyone to use to learn and grow.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a classroom full of energetic, curious, and eager-to-learn kindergarteners. Every day, I see their eyes light up when they hold a book, explore new materials, or engage in hands-on learning. The seating/bookcase will be used in my library for students to browse books. It will give them a comfy place to sit while choosings books to read. Along with the furniture, the books will enrich the students choices in my existing library. The supplies will help students be creative and collaborate with their peers when working on activities and projects.
Kindergarten students are so special to me because they are curious beings and they love to read.
Any chance they get they ask me to get a book. It is exciting to see them embrace learning and reading.
I hope to use all these supplies and books to engage students in their learning. I want to support early literacy by providing diverse books that spark a love of reading. Another goal I have is to build their fine motor skills throught writing and cutting activities. In addition, I believe that the items will promote independent learning and encourage a joyful classroom environment.
