My students need experiences using creativity and critical thinking while collaborating to simulate real-world situations useful for educational growth.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are 7-8-year-old learners who are hungry to learn! Although our school is predominately low-income/ high poverty area (100% free breakfast and lunch) these little people are motivated to come to school. These students come from families that struggle financially to make ends meet and coming to school is the most consistent and exciting part of their day. Our classroom consists of many different backgrounds, ethnicities, and learning abilities who get excited to share their learning with each other.
These kiddos need the support and meaningful experiences from school to encourage them to pursue careers in STEM fields.
Help me level the playing field for my little friends! My Students will collaborate, play, and use critical thinking all while engaging in a meaningful curriculum that will set the foundation for future interactions in the world.
My Project
STEM, the integration of science, technology, engineering, and math, are foundations for educational success and prosperity in the real world. The problem solving and critical thinking that occurs in a STEM-focused classroom are vital in supporting the education of our little learners and will help them succeed. Students will reflect, rework, and perform experiments using the Create-A-Chain, Space Lander, and The Three Billy Goats problem-solving science experiments to determine how they can improve their design. One could assume attendance in class will improve with students eager to come to school to use creative collaboration with their friends. Students will use the STEM projects such as House Building Engineering Center to develop the skills necessary to succeed in today's ever-changing world.
