This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from all parts of the world. They speak 37 languages in the school and 58 at home. The school is designated Title 1 so the majority of my students are identified as having a low SES (socioeconomic status) due to falling below the Federal guidelines for family income. The majority of the students in the school are African American and this is followed by Hispanic students.

I have maintained growth in the past three years despite the circumstances and challenges that my students face each day.

My Project

They will use the Computer to connect to my printer to print work for assignments and projects. They will also use it to do research on the projects and assignments that they are given. They will also use it as a language translating tool. It will also promote collaborative learning. Students are shy to speak in the classroom because they fear that they might make mistakes. As they learn and become more confident, they have tools to help them grow in reading comprehension and when they print out pictures for their projects and assignments, they will learn how to interpret primary and secondary sources.

They will use the headphones to learn privately by translating from their original languages to English.

These resources are sorely lacking and I need them because I care about my students. They should not have any barriers to their learning. You can help too!
