My Students

My classroom of students includes a beautiful group of 4 year old children entering Public Pre-K for the first time. Our school is located in an urban area that serves an economically diverse population of children and families. Many of my students come from culturally and linguistically diverse homes and are learning English as a second language.

My students are curious, strong, and kind children that are eager to learn and participate in all the literacy and learning activities that school has to offer them.

My Project

The high-quality children's books that I am requesting will supplement our existing curriculum so that we will have two teacher copies at school and each student will have their own copy to keep at home. With the strong possibility of remote and hybrid learning situations, providing hands-on learning materials at home for our youngest students will be essential.

By providing each student their own copy of core curriculum storybooks they will be able to follow along with teacher-led virtual book reads, reference the illustrations to respond to questions and complete activities, and have the opportunity to "read" the story to their family members outside of virtual learning.
