My Project

My energetic first graders love to learn through play, and what better way to boost their thinking skills, teamwork, and empathy than through engaging board games? Our classroom thrives when students work together—and board games provide the perfect blend of fun and foundational learning. Games like Catan Jr. and Ticket to Ride: First Journey help young minds plan, strategize, and make decisions. Dragon Dash and Race to the Treasure encourage cooperation and problem-solving under pressure. And mystery games like Clue Jr. and Outfoxed sharpen critical thinking while sparking curiosity. Even classics like Monopoly Jr. and The Game of Life Jr. teach math, turn-taking, and financial literacy in kid-friendly ways.

These games aren’t just fun—they build essential social-emotional and cognitive skills that students will carry with them for life.

These high-quality games are designed for children ages 5–6 and support collaborative play, communication, and critical thinking—all within our first-grade abilities.

In a world filled with screens and fast-paced distractions, board games offer a unique way to slow down and build real human connections. During indoor recess, choice time, and structured play sessions, these games will provide my students with meaningful opportunities to practice turn-taking, respectful communication, flexible thinking, and perseverance.
