This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I'm a new teacher in a Kindergarten class at a Title I STEM school where the kids are energetic and enthusiastic about learning! My students have great manners and positive attitudes, and they are always excited about every new concept they learn. As we begin our alphabets and numbers, the students are finding joy in new activities and lessons. As we are a relatively new class with a new classroom, the kids have been incredibly patient and understanding as we slowly begin to fill our classroom up with our own decorations, activities, and books. I could not have been given a better group of kids and would like to provide them with as many resources possible to improve their education.

My Project

We are a STEM school and I would like to provide as many resources for my students to use their brilliant minds to build and create. These materials include blocks and manipulatives that will be used to teach students about math (counting, measuring) and engineering. The best part about these materials is that they don’t necessarily need guidance for the kids to use them effectively. The blocks and games can also be used during free time after other lessons so that the kids have fun, hands-on methods of seeing and learning about their letters and numbers. We’ve received a lot of used donations from some generous, lovely people but I’m really excited for the kids to have some nice and new educational toys for our classroom!
