Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our bilingual, PK-5 library has been blessed with a robust non-fiction section, but it is difficult for students to browse and find what they need. This project will assist overhauling the biographies so that students can be inspired by the fascinating individuals highlighted in this section. Biographies are currently sorted by name and it is difficult to see the covers of the books.

These new bins will help organize all of the books into different categories of heroes and influential people.

In addition, the clear plastic will allow the books to be more visible and forward facing, which creates a dynamic book browsing experience. If these bins are successful in improving the interest of our students in the lives of the individuals highlighted by our biography section, we will expand the dynamic shelving ideas to even more areas of the library.
