Building and Learning Through Experience

My Students

My students will be entering a new building in our district. They are at different levels of their education experience. I have learners of different levels. I want all my students to be challenged at their levels.

Part of our district's focus is collaboration.

Second graders are still learning how to work together to achieve success. They are learning how to communicate to discuss good ideas and how to fix an idea that is not successful. They compliment and learn from each other.

My goal in the classroom is to provide these little learners with opportunities to develop the skills of working together and treating team members with kindness to learn how together we can solve any problem.

They love to see what their minds and hands can do at this young age.

My Project

Students touching and learning helps to learn new concepts more concrete. The students are building with hands but they are using their imagination and thinking skills to expand their knowledge within a subject.

These hands-on activities start our day off right!

When they arrive some are still eating breakfast, some are half asleep and they need to warm up to their day. The can come in and get to work and not even realize they are getting their body and brains ready for the rest of the day's learning.

These activities also bring variety to other stem activities in class.
