Building an Understanding of Middle Earth and Fantasy

My Project

I am going to run a fantasy elective next school year, and it would be so great and engaging if my students could literally build parts of the story as we journey through the novels. To have a physical representation of the process coupled with secondary lessons in working together and following directions will aid my students in many ways. I cannot think of a better fantasy tale than that of "The Lord of the Rings." and this LEGO set, coupled with another project I have up on this site containing another build surrounding this trilogy, will go so far in assisting in the understanding, and hopefully my students' comprehension, of this great epic.
