Hello! I am an enthusiastic 1st-year teacher of 7th grade ELA students. Many of my students are ESL or ELL who are struggling with fluency. I intend to conquer this issue this year by introducing them to classic novels such as the Diary of Ann Frank and Little Women.
Our school is an IB school, which is important in this economically challenged area.
My goal is to equip my students with all the tools necessary for success! This includes reading materials, experiences and educational challenges to expand their world view and thinking.
Our school mascot is the Proud Eagle so I have set up an Eagle's nest. This area consists of comfy chairs where students can relax while expanding their minds through literature. With the book provided, like Black Boy and I Am Malala The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban will allow my kids to read great stories and broaden their world view.
It is my hope that my students will develop a love of reading that will enhance every aspect of the learning experience.
Motivating them to tap into greatness within each of them.
